The Goddess of Morgantina and the Tea House in Raddusa.

The famous Greek sculpture of the fifth century BC was stolen 30 years ago before being bought by Paul Ghetty Museum in Malibu, who has returned after a long negotiation. Together with the Goddess returned Acroliths of Demeter and Kore and 15 Silver. The museum houses artifacts from Aidone Morgantina and from the hill of the Citadel, the site on which it was originally founded Morgantina.

A Raddusa, in the heart of Sicily, is the only museum of the Italian Tea you can admire many artifacts related to the history of Tea, including a permanent exhibition of 500 teapots of the Chinese city of Yixing and tools for the ceremonies of the Berbers, Bedouins, Ethiopians, Iranians, British (morning or high tea), French, Sinhalese and Burmese. Admission Euro 3 per person.

Transfer to Aidone where we ate and slept in a camper in the parking lot at the center of the country. Very quiet and safe.

Sunday 13 hours 10 VISIT THE MUSEUM OF AIDONE: A rich collection of artefacts found in Morgantina are stored at the public in the museum and witness the most significant stages of the journey of a civil community until very recently little known today and risen to the forefront of  international attention with the return of Venus.

The famous Greek sculpture of the fifth century BC was stolen 30 years ago before being bought by Paul Ghetty Museum in Malibu, who has returned after a long negotiation. Together with the Goddess returned to Sicily other important works: the Acroliths of Demeter and Kore and 15 Silver.

The museum was opened in 1984 and is located at the former Capuchin monastery (XVII century.) We point inside the head of Ecce Homo (attributed to a Friar Humble from Petralia) that presents the particularity of changing expression depending on the viewing angle. One can not fail to admire the beautiful altar in gilded wood.

The museum houses, in addition to the Goddess and the Acroliths, (which currently are at the Expo in Milan) finds from Morgantina and from the hill of the Citadel (site of Morgantina which was originally founded around 1000 BC) where there are also the remains a prehistoric village of the Bronze Age (1800 BC).

Also visited the Cathedral Church of Aidone. We have not visited the site of Morgantina because of bad weather: it rained and blew a cold wind. Aidone was immersed in fog.
